AIHHP Golden Globes Awards 2019

AIHHP Golden Globes

On the 22nd and 23rd of November 2019, AIHHP (the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals) celebrated their 25th anniversary with their annual conference and Golden Globes Award ceremony. This year saw the largest attendance since AIHHP’s inception; and the delegates were treated to an amazing weekend!

As always, Friday was the setting for all the major manufacturers within the UK hearing aid industry to put on demonstrations of their latest technology. The stands were educational, informative and full of innovation. This is always a great opportunity to see what the last 12 months of research and development, and millions of pounds worth of investment, has resulted in. There are some very exciting concepts planned for the year ahead, and as AIHHP members, we will be the first to gain access to them all…so, watch this space!

The AIHHP conference is considered the highlight of the year by all concerned and particularly for our suppliers who, from the inception, have complemented us on the excellent format for the delegates and for themselves.

All of the major suppliers were in attendance, and of the original 12 founder members, five were present to celebrate this milestone event in our history. Our very own Chris Carr (Cambridge), Robert Beiny (Harpenden), Richard Moss , Eddy Binns, and Andrew Shiach are all still going strongly.

The Friday evening saw the Gala Dinner and Golden Lobes Awards; a ceremony designed to reward the efforts and innovation of the manufacturers. There are a number of very highly sought-after awards; selected by secret ballots, chosen by all AIHHP members.

Founding of AIHHP

As a founder member, Chris was instrumental in drafting the requirement for all Full and Executive Members to attend 60% of all our educational meetings in order to remain the high levels of service, through regular CPD and training. This was the first time a form of continuous education was made mandatory in any of the then governing bodies which has since been adopted by them.
