Aid Problems

Within the Hearing Healthcare Centre 5 Year Aftercare Plan, clients are entitled to ‘Aid Problem’ appointments, whenever a fault has developed in their hearing instruments. This can often be something quick and simple to fix, for example a wax trap change/dome change/rewiring/retubing/cleaning that can all be fixed in-house. If the fault cannot be fixed in-house, then we can send the instrument to the suppliers for a full repair. This normally takes 6-8 working days with postage, but can often be quicker.

Once the repair is received in-house, Hearing Healthcare Centre perform our own Quality Assurance check to make sure that the repair has been performed succesfully, and up to our own high standards. Once it meets our approval, we will then place a call to arrange a follow up ‘Repair Fitting’ appointment. See below for details.

Appointment Duration: 20 minutes

Appointment Cost: Free for existing HHC clients.

Prerequisites for HHC Clients: None

Appointment Cost for non-HHC Clients: £50 for unregistered clients.

Prerequisites for non-HHC Clients: A full ‘Registration Appointment’ and membership of our ‘Support Plan’ is required.

Hearing Aid Fittings

Once a hearing aid has been ordered, it will normally arrive in to branch within 3-5 days (depending on style required). When new instruments have been ordered, we need to set them up by programming them to your individual needs with any special programs and connect the accessories as required. Verification tests are needed to maximise the benefit from the new hearing aids, and show you how effective they can be in different environments.

We will carefully guide you through the method of fitting and removing the instruments, inserting and removing the batteries, how to control them, how to change programs, and how to look after them.

A ‘Trial Assessment’ appointment is made two weeks after the ‘Hearing Aid Fitting’ appointment. See below for details.

Trial Assessment

At the end of the ‘Hearing Aid Fitting’ appointment, we will arrange a ‘Trial Assessment’ appointment for approximately two weeks later.

During the trial assessment, your audiologist will ask you about your experience with the hearing aids over the previous two weeks. We encourage our clients to give an honest account of their experiences, detailing all the relevant information. Under guidance from the client’s feedback, our audiologists will connect your hearing aids to the fitting software, and make any adjustments that we feel will improve your hearing experiences.

Hearing is exceptionally subjective, and people often have different experiences, especially if they are first-time hearing aid users. Only by frank and honest communication with our trained audiologists, can a truly effective hearing solution be found. We understand that explaining sounds is very difficult. Fortunately, our experienced audiologists can help you assess what sounds good, and what does not. That is why we offer a five-year aftercare service for all of our clients. Our hearing experiences may change over time, and we can adjust the hearing aids accordingly.

We pride ourselves on being able to create a good rapport with all of our clients, and we are only satisfied when we have maximised their hearing.
