Introduction to Starkey Hearing Aids

Starkey (Official Website) is an American hearing aid company, who got notoriety when Ronald Regan was seen wearing their Completely in Canal (CIC) hearing aids. Starkey is a world leader in the design, development and distribution of hearing aid solutions. Their focus is not solely on manufacturing of hearing aids, but also improving the lives of people around the world. To this end, they created the most advanced Research and Development department in the industry.

History

Starkey was formed in 1967 by William (Bill) Austin, who started a small hearing aid repair shop. In 1970, Austin bought an earmould laboratory called Starkey labs. Starkey began manufacturing hearing aids, and soon became synonymous with exemplary customer service. In 1983, global sales doubled when it was revealed President Ronald Reagan was a wearer of their hearing aids. The company has grown to be a global provider, and is proud of its charitable work. The Starkey Hearing Foundation is the world’s biggest hearing charity, donating 200,000 hearing aids to the less fortunate every year.

Range of Starkey Hearing Aids

Starkey have a full product portfolio, ranging from their smallest Invisible in Canal (IIC) Soundlens to their super power Behind the Ear (BTE) Muse IQ. Starkey also has one of the best selections of accessories that can partner their hearing aids. In particular, their wireless microphone is a great tool for improving speech audibility in noise.

Innovations

Starkey were one of the first manufacturers to embrace made for iPhone technology.
