Introduction to Bernafon Hearing Aids

Bernafon (Official Website) is a Swiss hearing health company, specialising in the manufacturing of hearing aids. They are focused on producing products that can be tailor-made to an individual’s particular requirements, without compromising on style or function.

History

Established in 1946 in Switzerland, and taken over by William Demant Holdings in 1995, it is one of the largest manufacturers of hearing aids in the world. Bernafon are a lesser-known brand in the UK hearing aid market, with William Demant’s marketing focused around its Oticon products.

Range of Products

Bernafon have a full range of hearing aid styles, including their Receiver in the Ear (RITE) and Behind the Ear (BTE) models.

Innovations

Best known for its patented ChannelFree technology. A unique system and approach to sound delivery, ChannelFree, as the name suggests, has abandoned the traditional approach to channel-controlled gain. Rather than focus on frequency channels for control, ChannelFree focuses on speech phonemes and adjusts them independently. The ChannelFree approach works very well for musicians looking for a more natural sound.

Sister Companies

Oticon, William Demant, Sonic Innovations, Neurelec, Maico Diagnostics, Interacoustics, Amplivox, Grason-Stadler, MedRx, Phonic Ear, Senheisser Communications
