A small team. A shared mission. A big impact on every life we touch.
Now led by the second generation, our team of expert Audiologists (still including Chris) continue Chris’ legacy. We’re a small but mighty team, each with our own story of what brought us here, but all bound by one belief: Helping you hear better is the most meaningful work we could do.
What makes us different? We’re clinicians – trained to listen, test, recommend, and support without pressure or sales targets. That independence (and our refusal to cut corners) is why we’re proud to be recognised as an AIHHPAssociation of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals – A professional UK organisation dedicated to promoting the highest standards in hearing care. Member clinics are independent and adhere to best practices in audiology. Centre of ExcellenceAn accreditation awarded to clinics that demonstrate consistently high standards of care, equipment, and outcomes. From Refurbishment to Reinvention
When Andy stepped into the role of Office Manager in 2013, he wasn’t just helping out with the running of the office – he was stepping into a legacy. As the step-son of founder Chris Carr, Andy brought a fresh set of eyes, a drive to modernise, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of family-run care. What followed was a total transformation: the premises were refurbished, IT systems upgraded, procedures overhauled, and a new team carefully recruited. Carr Hearing became Hearing Healthcare Centre – not just a name change, but a shift in identity. A sole trader became a Limited Company. And thanks to Andy, a family business was revived.
By 2015, Andy officially became a Director. But in reality, he’d already been leading from the front for years.
More Than Management
Today, Andy oversees every heartbeat of the business, from operations and strategy to marketing and the client experience. His leadership helped craft the “Client Journey,” a structured, client-first approach that’s now the gold standard at Hearing Healthcare Centre. He’s also supported the clinic’s growing reputation for innovation, playing a key role in the development of assessment tools like the DexBox and the Soundscape Simulation Suite, which have helped reshape how hearing care is delivered.
A Director with a Designer’s Eye
Andy’s approach is quietly creative. With a background in computing and a passion for photography, he brings an artistic view to everything from clinic design to brand visuals.
The Little Things Are the Big Things
Andy lives by a simple motto: “The little things are the big things.” Whether it’s refining the patient experience or supporting his team, he believes that real quality lies in the details. In every decision, he prioritises the human element, because when people feel seen, heard, and cared for, everything else falls into place.
Family Values, Family Business
Working alongside Chris and Conny isn’t just a privilege, it’s personal! The three share the same vision: a clinic built on attentiveness, integrity, and genuine care. For Andy, that bond is the foundation of everything they do.
Outside the Clinic
When he’s not in the office, Andy is likely either behind a camera lens or chasing adventure with his young family. He shares life with his loving wife and their two children, Giacomo and Chiara, who fill his weekends with laughter, chaos, and joy in equal measure. Family time is sacred! Whether it’s a muddy woodland walk, a spontaneous day out, or a quiet evening building forts at home.
Alongside family life, Andy dedicates time to his creative passions. His photography, while technically a hobby, is practiced at a semi-professional level – often involving alternative portraiture, fashion-inspired concepts, and creative design work that blends technical precision with artistic flair. Andy enjoys exploring dramatic lighting and imaginative visual storytelling. Photoshop is his playground, where he experiments with layered composites and striking digital art – a hobby that speaks to his love of craft, detail, and design.
While family photography remains a cherished pastime, his portfolio leans more toward bold, conceptual shoots that showcase a different side of his creativity.
This balance of family, creativity, and meaningful work is what keeps Andy grounded – and what makes his leadership at Hearing Healthcare Centre feel less like business, and more like home.

Over 50 Years of Hearing Care – And Still Listening
Chris didn’t just join the world of audiology – he helped shape it. His career began in 1970, back when hearing aids were big, beige, analogue, and anything but smart. But from day one, Chris knew that technology alone wasn’t the answer. Real hearing care was about understanding people; their frustrations, their hopes, their stories, and then finding solutions that fit not just their hearing loss, but their life.
In 1983, Chris took over the practice that would become Hearing Healthcare Centre. Over the decades, he’s seen audiology transform from bulky hardware to sleek, AI-powered marvels. But through it all, one thing hasn’t changed: His belief that the best care starts with listening to the client.
Expertise That’s Earned (And Shared)
With over five decades of experience, Chris holds a Fellowship with the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists and is a founding member of AIHHP (the Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals). He even served as AIHHP’s Educational Officer, helping to raise the bar for audiologists across the UK.
But Chris’s expertise isn’t just academic, it’s practical. Over the years, he’s earned a reputation for inventive solutions to the trickiest cases: unilateral hearing loss, sudden sensorineural loss, and stubborn tinnitus. If there’s a way forward, Chris will find it — and then share it with his peers to make sure others benefit too.
Solutions That Start with a Conversation
Chris’s approach to care is refreshingly simple:
“I treat every client the way I’d want to be treated myself.”
That means clear explanations (no unnecessary jargon), a calm, comfortable atmosphere, and a genuine interest in who you are — not just what your audiogram shows.
Because hearing loss is personal, the solution should be too. Whether you’re struggling at work, missing out on conversations at family gatherings, or longing to feel more confident in social settings, Chris takes the time to understand what matters most to you — and that’s where your personalised solution begins.
Case in Point
Recently, a client came to Chris with long-standing unilateral hearing loss. After years of frustration and a hearing aid that just wasn’t helping, she was ready to give up. Chris took the time to dig deeper — exploring her hearing profile, her lifestyle, and her expectations. The result? A custom solution that’s transformed how she hears at work, with friends, and in noisy settings. It wasn’t magic — just experience, creativity, and listening in action.
Always Learning, Always Improving
After more than 50 years in practice, Chris could easily rest on his reputation — but that’s not his style. Instead, he’s a lifelong learner, attending seminars, chatting with colleagues, and keeping a keen eye on the latest technology. From the newest hearing aids to emerging diagnostic tools, Chris makes sure his clients get the best of both worlds: cutting-edge care delivered with old-school care and attention to detail.
Outside the Clinic
When he’s not helping people hear better, you’ll probably find Chris under the hood of a classic car or flying one of the 10 model planes he’s built since lockdown reignited his childhood passion for aeromodelling. And if there’s water nearby, he might just be reminiscing about his sailing days too.
The Bottom Line
For Chris, audiology isn’t a job — it’s a craft, a calling, and a lifelong passion. And after all these years, his motto is still the same: Offer the best help possible, with the most up-to-date tools — and always, always put the client first.

From Patient to Professional
Before Daniel ever picked up an otoscope, he knew what it felt like to sit in your chair. As a child, Daniel experienced relentless ear infections, multiple surgeries, and years wearing hearing aids himself. He’s been the nervous kid in the waiting room. He’s also been the relieved patient finally hearing the world clearly again.
That personal connection to hearing loss wasn’t just formative — it was transformative. It led Daniel to study Audiology at UCL, graduating in 2013. After cutting his teeth in NHS hospitals across London and surviving a short stint with a global hearing aid company (where sales mattered more than care — lesson learned), Daniel found his professional home at Hearing Healthcare Centre in 2014. He’s been here ever since, helping clients rediscover the sounds that make life rich and meaningful.
Clinician First. Salesperson Never.
Daniel’s expertise spans everything from comprehensive hearing assessments to complex hearing aid fittings, always guided by a simple philosophy: “I don’t guess. I assess.”
His approach is refreshingly thorough – because no two ears (or lives) are the same. Whether he’s fine-tuning hearing aids for music lovers, creating custom settings for tricky environments like car journeys, or using real-ear measurements to ensure precise performance, Daniel treats every fitting like a craft. One size never fits all, and with Daniel, it never has to.
Passion Meets Innovation
Daniel’s work doesn’t stop at fitting hearing aids. He’s also helped invent new tools to improve care, including the DexBox, a clever device that helps assess dexterity (because hearing aids should be easy to operate), and a Soundscape Simulation Suite that lets clients experience real-life listening situations before they even leave the clinic.
This hands-on innovation – creating solutions with clients, not just for them – is what sets Daniel apart.
Connection First, Technology Second
Technology matters, but relationships come first in Daniel’s world. His clients aren’t case numbers — they’re people with unique stories, families, hobbies, and frustrations. Whether someone’s sharing tales about their grandchildren’s adventures or asking why hearing in restaurants is still so tricky, Daniel listens (really listens) before offering advice.
“No concern is too small. If something bothers you, it matters to me.”
Hearing Care That Feels Like Home
If you’ve ever felt rushed at a hearing appointment, you’ll notice the difference with Daniel immediately. His appointments are conversations, not transactions. Every question gets answered. Every adjustment is made with care. And every client leaves feeling like they have an audiologist in their corner.
Outside the Clinic
When Daniel isn’t championing better hearing, you’ll find him spending time with his wife Holly, their daughter Delilah, and their son Thomas — plus the family’s very energetic dogs. Whether they’re out for a long walk, kayaking down the river, or enjoying a rugby match or film night at home, family time is his happy place.
The Bottom Line
For Daniel, audiology isn’t just a career – it’s personal.
Because he’s walked the path himself, he knows the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference. And that’s exactly what he offers every client, every time.

From Family Experience to Personal Mission
For Rachel, audiology isn’t just a career. It’s personal. Growing up, she watched her dad struggle with hearing loss. She saw first-hand how missed punchlines, repeated questions, and strained conversations quietly chipped away at his confidence and his connection with the world around him.
That experience planted a seed. It led Rachel to initially study Psychology, earning a first-class degree – but something kept tugging her back to hearing care. The desire to make life easier for people like her dad was too strong to ignore. So, she retrained, qualified as a Hearing Aid Audiologist, and brought her unique blend of scientific know-how and human empathy to Hearing Healthcare Centre.
Expertise Meets Empathy
Rachel’s first-class degree in Audiology gives her the great technical know-how. Her background in Psychology adds a deeper layer – an understanding that hearing loss isn’t just a clinical issue; it’s an emotional journey too.
That’s why Rachel’s appointments aren’t just about what the telemetry says — they’re about how hearing loss feels and what really matters to each client. Whether it’s helping a music lover rediscover their favourite songs, or giving someone the confidence to chat with their grandchildren without saying “pardon?” every other sentence — Rachel’s focus is always on what improves the clients quality of life.
Technology? Love It. Relationships? Love Them More.
Rachel’s a bit of a tech geek – she’s ‘fluent’ in Bluetooth connectivity, app integrations, and all the latest hearing aid wizardry. She loves helping clients unlock the full potential of their hearing aids, whether that’s streaming TV directly to their ears or fine-tuning settings for trickier environments like bowls clubs or busy cafes.
But ask her what really motivates her? It’s the people.
“I always tell clients: You can’t ask too many questions. This is your hearing, your life — I’m just here to make sure the technology works for you, not the other way around.”
A Case Study Close to Her Heart
One client, frustrated after years of subpar care elsewhere, arrived feeling hopeless. Severe hearing loss and ill-fitting aids had kept her from the social gatherings she used to love. Rachel didn’t just test and fit – she listened. Together, they found a hearing aid solution that was tailored to her client’s unique requirements that gave her back not just her hearing, but her confidence. Today, that client is back at her favourite family events, chatting away, enjoying life. Her family have really noticed a huge improvement too.
Outside the Clinic
When she’s not helping clients hear better, Rachel is probably… playing bowls. As a competitive indoor and outdoor player (who’s played for England!!), she knows her way around a rink. And yes, she’s heard all the jokes about being an ‘old soul’ (her clients love that part).
The Bottom Line
For Rachel, this work is about more than hearing aids. It’s about helping people stay part of the moments that matter — the stories, the laughter, the everyday magic of conversation. Whether she’s helping someone like her dad, or a brand-new face, her goal is always the same: To make every client feel heard, understood, and supported — every step of the way.
