We were delighted to attend this year’s event, which was in the Nottingham Belfry Hotel. It was an early start for our staff, who traveled up to Nottingham early on Friday 18th November. After arriving at the QH Hotel, we made our way into the exhibition. Here, we were kindly offered hot drinks and snacks, as we toured through the various manufacturers and their interesting new products and technologies.

Senior audiologist Chris Carr, caught up with friends and colleagues, whilst audiologists Daniel, trainee audiologist Dani, and Administration Assistant Luke, went round inquiring on the latest audiological technologies. Leading suppliers such as Puretone, Unitron, Phonak, Siemens, and many more set up shop to show independent hearing practitioners just what they had in store.

After touring the exhibition and mingling with fellow practitioners, we advanced to the conference room, where we enjoyed various talks from industry experts and leading suppliers. The talks were very informative and entertaining, and covered many topics from tinnitus research, the latest in hearing aid music algorithms, and even how to structure an effective team of staff, which of course, we already knew!

Many independents also shared clinician tips and knowledge, in true AIHPP ethos, and many recognised our collective goal not only as an industry, but as healthcare professionals seeking what is in the patient’s best interests!

There were several intermissions between speeches, which we enjoyed further conversing with the brilliant minds attending the event, and indulging in the variety of hot beverages and treats available.

When all talks had concluded, there was an hours break for members to get suited and booted for the main event; the big Gala dinner and the Golden Lobes Award Ceremony!

It’s safe to say our team was more than impressed with the menu presented at the dinner, along with the wide selection of drinks. The dinner was initiated with a well-informed speech from Colin Eaton, thanking suppliers and independents alike.

The three-course meal was delicious, and well thought out; accompanied by live music, the 2016 Hearing Expo set the standards high! And after the dinner, our team took a quick visit to the bar to finalise the evening with a few drinks, right before a well-earned sleep in the luxurious beds of the Nottingham Belfry Hotel. We very much enjoyed the entire event, and look forward to the next one!

Thank-you from Hearing Healthcare Centre!
